Newsletter Articles by East Lothian parents

The East Lothian branch publishes regular newsletters that include articles written by local mums and dads on a variety of subjects - you may have seen the newsletters in your local health center waiting room (and local NCT members receive a copy in the post).

We'll publish a selection of the articles here from time to time. We'd love to hear from you - so if you have any suggestions for the newsletter, or if you'd like to contribute, please e-mail info@ncteastlothian.org.uk.

Sleep! (Spring 2009 edition)

When you’ve had a baby, you'd expect a few sleepless nights, but how long should that go on for? What is normal? (Or is there even such a thing when it comes to sleep?)

Here is a selection of stories from real mums about their experiences with their babies and older children. They reflect the personal opinions of the writers and are not necessarily those of the National Childbirth Trust as a whole; indeed some of the sleep training methods are not considered to be compatible with breastfeeding so would not be recommended by the NCT to breastfeeding mothers. However, as with all aspects of parenting, it’s important that you do what’s right for you, your baby and the rest of your family.
